Notes:

I am a multi instrumentalist and composer/orchestrator. I have availability for holiday tuition, as I teach in schools during term time. The content and quantity/duration can be flexible and tailor-made for your needs- for example I can offer week-long intensive courses, or however many lessons a week you require.

I involve as many genres of music as possible, including classical, jazz, pop, rock and anything in between.

I perform regularly at venues and festivals in an 8-piece pop-funk band, for which I sing; play guitar/trombone/trumpet/percussion; write songs/lyrics; arrange/orchestrate; and conduct. I have received national radio airplay with my band.

Teaching experience includes:
-Primary School Music Class Teaching- from Nursery to Year 6.
-Private tuition as listed in the above section.
-Mini Mozart Baby and Carer Music classes, for 0-3 year olds.
-SEN Learning Support Assistant, Secondary School (11-16 year olds).
-Music GCSE support.

Each student is different, so each lesson is adapted to the student- reacting to their strengths and motivations, whilst simultaneously challenging and introducing them to new concepts and approaches.

Students improve most when they feel empowered, and therefore motivated to practice. My style is centred around providing the student with the tools to be able to work things out independently, developing effective personal practice methods, with a big focus on creativity. Allowing them the space to experiment, get things wrong, and self-correct.

Lessons include as many different elements of music making as possible (sight reading, aural skills, composition, transcription, improvisation, ensemble skills, performance techniques, music theory) involving as many different musical genres as possible, in order to develop all-round musicianship.
