Notes:
Based in the West End of Glasgow, I can teach all ages and abilities from beginners through to advanced level.
My method, whilst firm is always relaxed, fun and creative. I strive to bring out the best in my students; musically, stylistically and technically. My aim is to nurture and encourage their natural creativity.
I graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formally the RSAMD) with a BA in Music Education and have experience in; classroom teaching, one to one tuition, group teaching and working with those with Special Educational Needs.
I have an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland Certifcate and a member of the PVG scheme for adults and young people.
I am currently a tutor at the North Ayrshire Fiddle Workshop where I teach every Thursday evening. I have a Junior Intermediate class and a Senior Intermediate class.
I teach guitar every Friday afternoon for Edinburgh Council as part of the YMI funded ‘Sounds Like Friday’ Music project and violin every Saturday for ‘Sounds Like Saturday’.
I have taught (and continue to as a dep.) for Glasgow Fiddle Workshop. Through my time at GFW I have taught adult; beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.
I have recently been offered a role as a deputy tutor for fiddle, guitar and group work sessions for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Musicworks programme.
