Miss Katie Lodge

Biography

Katie Lodge is currently in her first year of her Master of Arts degree at the Royal Academy of Music after reading music at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
Having found a love for the trumpet at age 8, she has been involved with many orchestral organisations and projects such as the National Youth Orchestra, of which she had been a member for two years. With the NYO she has been incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to play in prestigious venues including the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms season. Katie's experiences have stretched from playing side by side with the Orchestre Symphonique de Kimbanguiste from the Congo to performing a musical rendition of Michael Rosen's "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" in front of The Duchess of Cornwall. Katie held the position of principal trumpet of the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra (now Cambridge University Orchestra) and has also played with numerous orchestras in London.
Now studying permanently in London, Katie takes part in projects involving local communities, including working with Wigmore Hall's Music for Thought, the Royal Academy's 'Open Academy' and teaches privately.
