Biography

Ed Baker is a professional Musician, Guitar Teacher and Instrument Technician currently based in Bath. His musical career started at 5, when he was given piano and singing lessons at primary school, and moved on to learning the Guitar in 2002.

Having played in many original, party and cover bands over the years, Ed has shared stages with the likes of Eddie and the Hotrods and members of Reef, The Cockney Rebel, and Marillion. Whilst studying for his A levels, Ed began his teaching career working from a local music store and the workshop of a luthier on the Essex/Suffolk border.

Being technically minded, a trait he gained from his Electrical Engineer father, Ed trained as a Luthier and Amplifier Technician under the guidance of Robbie Gladwell (Doctor Robert, Guitarist Magazine) and John Cooper (Selmer Amplification, ProAmplifiers).

Ed moved to brighton in 2008 to study for a degree in Professional Musicianship at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) where he gained a 2:1 classification. After this he went on to successfully complete a Master's Degree in Music and Sonic Media at the University of Sussex in September 2012. Since then, Ed has dedicated his life to playing music and teaching.
