Biography

I started playing guitar when I was about 13, listening to Eric Clapton and his contemporaries. I played a few college gigs with a blues band.
Later on, I became more interested in traditional music, Folk, Celtic and country. I love the energy of bands like The Levellers and Skerryvore. In England, from about 95 onwards, I played in an acoustic duo then a Folk-Rock four piece which became popular locally and allowed me to headline in 2 festivals. At that time I was mainly playing jigs and reels on the mandolin, as well as lead singing. Teaching guitar in a High-School, I was invited by the Brass teacher to fill a vacancy playing bass in the orchestra pit. We were performing for the actors in a Broadway musical for the Derby Opera Company. A great success, we were booked for another season; five nights plus two gigs in Saturday.
I came back to Glasgow in 2014 and soon found some good musicians and started gigging and have recently been offering teaching sessions again. I think you'll find my long experience in music allows me to help you to improve and enjoy your own music more.
