Biography

Based in Bristol I have taught drums now for 18 years!!

I have been a drummer for over 25 years and my professional career saw me touring the U.K. and Europe extensively. I have a vast experience of sound engineering and promoting as well as recording. I have been teaching drums for a great many years and after teaching in many schools across the region I now specialise in teaching children but am more than happy to take on any keen adults as well. I currently mix playing regularly with a variety of bands with teaching drums.

I have :
* An independant Enhanced Criminal Record Certificate issued by the DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service)
* Public Liability Insurance issued through The Musicians Union
* Musician's Union membership
* Certificate of Education (teaching qualification gained in 2005)
I teach a range of styles and techniques from simple snare drum rudiments and fun patterns to complex four-limbed rhythms. I teach everyone to read drum music as soon as they are ready as I feel this is invaluable.

Adult beginner and improvers are also welcome.

The teaching covers:

* basic rudiments
* styles (rock,pop,funk,blues,jazz)
* reading drum music
* co-ordination

through:

* a vast array of my own produced
resources
* using the most popular drum books
available
* graded Rock School exams
* learning drum parts of famous songs
* playing along with current and classic songs

I believe that learning an instrument, particularly the drums can be a great enhancement to a child's life. Introducing them to discipline, perserverance, creativity and co-ordination are skills they can apply to many other areas.

Whether drumming becomes a hobby or a life-long passion I guarantee they WILL enjoy themselves along the way.
