Biography

I am a friendly and dedicated pianist and piano teacher based in central Manchester, recently graduated with an MMus in performance from the Royal Northern College of Music. I welcome students of all ages and abilities, and have considerable teaching experience having taught privately for a number of years as well as having had experience teaching at Yorkshire Young Musicians in Leeds and Junior RNCM in Manchester.

I started learning from an early age with my mother, and later with Irina Glushenkova, John Gough (for undergraduate study) and Murray McLachlan (at postgraduate level). Prizes have included first place in the East Coast Young Musician 2013, RNCM Fergal O'Mahony Undergraduate Prize 2015. I was also a prize-winner in the Wales International Piano Competition 2016, finalist in the 2016 RNCM Gold Medal Competition, and recipient of the Drapers' Scholarship for Masters study. I am active as a concert pianist throughout the UK.

Lessons ideally take place weekly and I try to encourage as much enjoyment and creativity and love for the music as possible through a flexible and personalised curriculum in which my students not only learn how to play the instrument, but also develop their musicianship and knowledge of music theory. I have considerable experience with ABRSM graded exams, but only should the student want to!
