Genre/Style(s): Classical
Folk Fiddle
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

Notes:

I am a graduate of both the Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama studying violin and folk fiddle.

I started teaching whilst at the Conservatoire and have worked with pupils of all ages and abilities; my experience includes running workshops for adults and children at folk festivals and events, teaching privately and with both Dudley and Sandwell Music Services. I perform professionally with string quartets and have given solo recitals all over the UK.

As well as performing Classical and Contemporary music professionally, I also perform regularly as a folk musician. Finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards with guitarist and songwriter Jack McNeill, our duos original music has been described in the Sunday Times as “real folk - not nu-folk, folktronica or some other apologetically named sub-genre - and it doesn’t seem to need reinventing”.
