I am an experienced violinist with a passion for music education. I have played in a wide variety of genres including Classical, Baroque, Romantic, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Opera and Orchestral. My performance experience includes playing for a variety of shows (including Legally Blonde, Sister Act, Wizard of Oz and others) and playing in a number of ensembles. I was the leader of my county youth orchestra from 2015-2016 and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales from the age of 16. At University I have enjoyed playing with the University Chimera Ensemble (specialising in contemporary music), the University Chamber Orchestra, Baroque Ensemble, Sinfonietta and most recently I led the University of York Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Mahler's Ninth Symphony. Having been a member of the Music Education Group at University, I have had plenty of experience in working with a range of people (both children and the elderly) in educational settings. As a result, I am confident in my abilities to work well with children. I am fully DBS checked. I teach with the aim of not just helping young violinists to improve but with the hope of sparking a passion in them to continue playing the violin and hopefully form Britain's next generation of violinists.
