Biography

Victoria was born in Adelaide in 1984 and began studying the cello at the age of five. In 2000 she won a bursary to study cello with Genevieve Teulieres-Sommer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Junior Department. During this time she attended masterclasses in France with Raphael Sommer. In 2003 she performed Saint Saens First Cello Concerto in Rochester Cathedral and in the same year she reached the final round of the Marlowe Young Musician of the Year competition in Canterbury.

In July 2006 Victoria completed her B.Mus.Hons degree at the Royal College of Music, London where she studied with Melissa Phelps and held a scholarship. From 2006 2008 she continued her studies at the Royal College of Music on the Post Graduate Diploma programme where she was awarded the Orchestral Mentor Scholarship. During this time she was chosen to lead the cello section of the Royal College of Music Opera Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra in numerous concerts under such conductors as Sir Roger Norrington, Sir Charles Mackerras and Vladimir Ashkenazy.

Victoria has performed with numerous orchestras in London including the London Concert Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. In addition she holds the post of cello teacher at Tiffin Boys School, Garden House School and Beechwood Sacred Heart School in Tunbridge Wells.
