Notes:

I currently hold a first class degree in Music from the Univeristy of Manchester, specialising in performance and composition. I play and teach all saxophones (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone), bassoon, piano and clarinet, and perform all these professionally; recent performance experience includes a world premiere for soprano saxophone at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Glazunov Saxophone Concerto with the Sutton Symphony Orchestra, Bassoon with the Camerata of
London, Piano with the function band ‘MonoChromatix’ and various wind doubling in numerous musical theatre productions.

While I will help students work towards exams if they wish, I believe fundamentally that learning an instrument should be enjoyable. Taking exams can be daunting and stressful, so for me it is crucial that my lessons aren’t simply directing students towards high marks, but also helping them discover more about music and enable them to play the music they want and enjoy performing.
