Mr Mahesh Rajagopal

Learned Carnatic music for over 14 years and has achieved numerous prizes and honours from different organisations.
I am currently in the UK where I teach music and perform at different stages and events.
Instruments: Vocal music including film music (Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and several other languages) and light music with basics in Carnatic music.
Genre/Style(s): Indian Film music, Indian Carnatic Music
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

I have been teaching music to kids, teenagers and adults since 1997. My focus is to train students with Carnatic music to establish firm grip on Shruthi, Thaalam and Swaras. (including Sarali Varisai, Jhanta Varisai, etc all the way upto Geethams and Varnams)
I then proceed to the next stage which is Layam and Bhavam where light music and film songs are introduced. Students who are interested in pursuing further shall be taught Keerthanas, based on level of progression of students.
The film songs occasionally comes in the first stage also to spice up learning with examples of rendering in different styles.
Students are encouraged to cultivate their own versions of rendering and are motivated to bring their own layam and bhavam perspectives while rendering.
With classical Carnatic training, the students will be able to sing with an open throat, which would in turn widen up their vocal range and enriching their confidence and skills to handle any music and any language with varying complexities.

I have been performing in India and the UK for numerous years now and have been approached for online teaching and training.

Therefore anybody who is interested for face to face (I am based in Hornchurch, London, UK) or online classes may please contact me for details and available times.
