Alexander Koshelev is a successful London based professional orchestral and chamber musician as well as performs as a soloist. Born in Kiev, Ukraine a holder of a Masters Degree from the prestigious Royal College of Music, London, as well as a Bachelors of Music with Honours degree from the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.

Alexander has desired to specialise in Historical Performance (Early & Classical) Music and is a successful London based professional orchestral and chamber musician as well as performs as a soloist. Alexander performs professionally on Oboe, Piano and Keyboards. During the last ten years he has performed professionally in venues such London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, the National Gallery, Queen Elisabeth Hall, St. James’ Piccadilly, St. John’s Smith Square and is proud to be a regular musician at the Handel House Museum. Other appearances have included extensive tours in France, also concerts in Sweden, the Ukraine, Croatia as well as regularly based work in the UK.
Alexander's playing has received excellent reviews in "The Times (UK)", London-based newspaper “Anglia”, and Swedish newspaper "Lerums Tidnig" as well as Music Sound award. He has been regularly broadcast on the National Radio of Ukraine, and has participated in numerous arts and music programmes.

As well as being a sought-after performer, Alexander also enjoys being a professional instrumental music teacher. His range of students include children from the age of six as well as adults, especially Piano, Electronic Keyboard and Music Theory as well as Oboe in London schools, successfully preparing students for ABRSM and other exams.

Alexander also has enjoyed being the principal conductor of St Bartholomew’s Chamber Orchestra 2008-11, has regularly conducted classical orchestral concerts and conducts other London orchestras. Alexander also is currently treasurer and a committee member of the South-East London branch of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM), the professional musicians’ organisation worldwide. He is also a member of Musicians Union and National Early Music Association UK.

Over the last five years Alexander has successfully re-introduced Baroque Oboe to the public in the series of concerts across the classical music venues in Kiev, Ukraine. He has performed and given Master classes at the National Music Academy of Ukraine, Alexander plays an important role in the revival of baroque music in Ukraine as well as being in demand in the UK and Europe.
Alexander’s CD Great Olde European Music for Oboe and Basso Continuo has been critically acclaimed and is getting extremely popular in the UK, Europe and the USA and is available for purchase at the Handel House Museum as well as good music shops and websites.
