Notes:
I am a woodwind specialist with over 20 years of private and school teaching experience throughout the UK and internationally.
I offer fun and engaging lessons in saxophone and clarinet to children and adults.
Lessons are student focused and provided in an encouraging and supportive environment, in my spacious music studio.
Enjoyment of making music is at the centre of my approach. I am enthusiastic and passionate about music and I aim to inspire and encourage pupils to reach their full playing potential and attain their goals.
I can also accompany students on the piano and use backing tracks in lessons, which enhances the musical experience, facilitates progress- and is fun!
Students may take practical and theory exams if they wish. I provide thorough preparation including aural training and I attend on the exam day to provide support.
My ABRSM exam pass rate is 100%.
As a performer I have a wealth of experience playing in function bands, for musicals, big bands, in saxophone quartets and for recording sessions. Highlights include sessions for the BBC and Talkin’ Loud Records and gigs at The West Yorkshire Playhouse, Ronnie Scott’s and at various venues in Bermuda.
I currently perform on a freelance basis mainly in function bands and also as a soloist.
I hold an up to date DBS certificate.
I offer an initial trial lesson.
Gift certificates are available.
