Keeping Children Safe in Music is the latest in the EduCare's series of distance learning courses on child protection. The training programme uses short films to show a variety of good and bad practice examples, which will be available to watch online. It will help anyone teaching music to children gain a better understanding of their child protection responsibilities, and avoid situations that could lead to accusations of misconduct.

Notes:

I have 20 years experience teaching Classical and steel-string guitar, mandolin, ukulele and banjo to students aged between 5 - 70. Students can study for grades Initial - Grade 8/Diploma (ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, RGT), prepare for college or learn to play for sheer enjoyment.

During my time at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama I studied with the celebrated concert artists John Mills and Christopher Stell and performed for some of the world's finest guitarists including Craig Ogden, Gary Ryan, Ben Verdery and Nigel North. Also, as part of my degree I embarked on a 2 year Teaching Skills core module.

Since November 2012 I have been teaching guitar, banjo and mandolin at Lancing College.

Lessons are also available ONLINE via FaceTime, Skype and Zoom. A free 30min set up/consultation is available for this option.
