I grew up in Winchester with music all around me, both my parents being musicians. I started playing the violin when I was eight and quickly joined all the local ensembles. I loved playing and took Grade eight whilst at secondary school. I knew that violin was my passion and chose to study it at degree level.
Spending two years at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and then two at Dartington College gave me a very rounded musical knowledge. I enjoy playing all types of music and will rarely turn down a challenge.
I have been fortunate enough to play in some pretty amazing venues, Winchester Catherdral where I performed Fratres by Arvo Part, National Concert Hall in Wales, playing Beethoven's Ninth under Sir Charls MacKerras and Bach Double Violin Concerto to Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber in the Anvil, Basingstoke. All these experiences have given me a good understanding of why people love music.

In more recent times, I have worked at as teaching assistant in a secondary school, a job I loved as working with young people is hugely enjoyable to me. I am also currently training to be a counsellor so I take pleasure in building relationships, and this is something I would hope to do when teaching. I have also led the Plymouth University Orchestra and this has been a great privilege.

Violin playing is one of my great passions, as well as surfing and sewing, and I would love to hear from you if you're interested in learning.
