My name is Christopher Bell and I am currently a second year undergraduate music student at The University of Sheffield. As a descendent of a banding family, I began playing Euphonium aged 7, shortly followed by piano and later voice. I attended the Birmingham Junior Conservatoire on scholarship for 3 years studying Euphonium, Trombone, aural skills and music theory. Since then, I have played in a number of brass bands, orchestras and concert bands nationwide including Sheffield Rep Orchestra and Sovereign Brass. I'm Assistant Musical Director of The University of Sheffield Wind Orchestra and regularly work with Sheffield Music Hub to produce their concerts. Currently preparing for a final year recital at The University of Sheffield next year, i'm looking to begin teaching privately to support my studies and develop my experience for graduate prospects.

I have a very positive and enthusiastic approach to teaching, with a particular specialism in helping with confidence issues whilst playing. From the expert tuition I have received at the university and whilst at Birmingham Conservatoire, I have gathered a lot of material and techniques which I can pass onto my students. I run a volunteering scheme at the university which delivers group music workshops in schools and I recently produced the Sheffield Regional Festival of Music for Youth. Therefore, I hope you are able to see my passion for music education and willingness to teach.
