Biography

I started out playing piano at age 5 and learnt guitar at age 17. My father, Allan Parkinson (ex Slack Alice, DO-IT, Dark Horse) was a well known musician and guitar teacher in the Barnoldswick area. It was with him that I first started performing live and gradually I started to form my own bands and play live frequently.

By age 24 I was living in Leicester and performing in original bands and writing my own compositions, going to recording studios and supporting signed bands on the local circuit. In that time I supported 'The Darkness' and 'The Feeling' as well as many other notable signed acts.

In 2013 I released my first solo album 'Serenade The Damned' by One Cure For Man (and played all the instruments) and gained BBC airplay for my song 'War Of Dreams.' Since then I have made three more albums and gained more BBC radio play and critical acclaim.

My guitar style is very melodic, using lots of arpeggios, tight rhythm playing and intricate, memorable guitar solos. I can play very slow or very fast and I work completely within the song, never getting carried away by technique.

I now record other bands and do session work sometimes, depping on bass, keyboards, guitar and vocals. I have a great ear for detail and what works within a song which I apply to my lessons and teaching, helping people with arrangements for their own songs.
