Hello, Iím Eloise, cellist and composer.

I have been playing the cello for 16 years, and received an undergraduate scholarship for performance at Cardiff University, and the Neville John string prize. Besides teaching, Iím a composer of new orchestral and chamber music, writing for the London Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Hebrides Ensemble, and for the Bath, St. Magnus, Aldeburgh and Cheltenham Music Festivals. Iím currently writing a viola concerto, and playing the cello in a new London chamber ensemble specialising in new music.

I have been playing in a Ďfolky gypsy jazzí band for years, performing around the UK and France, and we have recently released an album.

Whether you would like to play for fun or work towards exams, I can offer lessons tailored to you. Though my experience as a performer and composer, my approach to teaching the cello is flexible and creative, covering a range of styles from classical, to contemporary and improvisation. I can also offer aural and theory training, in preparation for the ABRSM exams.

I also teach my students to be mindful of how we hold our bodies whilst playing; I believe it is so important to have this awareness to avoid unnecessary tension.

I'm a patient and friendly teacher with experience in tutoring all ages and abilities.
