Biography

Louisa Waldron started her performance studies at the Royal Northern College of Music completing both a Bachelors of Music and a Masters of Music under the tuition of the late Barbara Robotham and Mary Plazas.

Louisa was a finalist in the prestigious Joyce and Michael Kennedy prize for the Singing of Strauss. She was also a recipient of the Dame Eva Turner Scholarship, Headly Trust Bursary, Ann Watson Trust Grant and was an Oglesby Charitable Trust Scholar.

While at the RNCM Louisa has performed the roles of Vanessa, Lolette in La Rondine, The Jaybird and Forest observer in The Cunning Little Vixen, and in fully staged opera excerpts Mimi, Alice Ford, Fiordiligi and Elenora in Wolf-Ferrariís Le Donne Curiose. She was in the chorus of Eugene Onegin, and The Threepenny Opera.With Huddersfield youth opera she studied the role of Jenufa.

With Norfolk Coastal Opera in a series of staged opera excerpts she performed the roles of Violetta, Musetta, Belliniís Guiletta and Donna Anna. She also performed Rusalka and Musetta in opera scenes with Huddersfield Youth Opera.

On the concert platform, Louisa has been engaged as a soloist in Handelís Dixit Dominus, Israel in Egypt, Bachís Cantata No.6, Bruckner and Kodalyís Te Deum, Rutterís Magnificat and Mass for the Children, Rossiniís Petite Messe Solennelle, Bizetís Te Deum Brucknerís Te Deum and Mendelssohnís Hymn of Praise, Carterís Te Deum and Nielsenís Springtime in Funen.
