Notes:

Hi! Iím Hannah, and my passion is to open up the world of classical music to others.

Originally from New Zealand, I studied in London and then Paris, where Iíve been lucky enough to be mentored by some of the greatest pianists alive today.

Although my background is in performance, I now dedicate myself to teaching full-time - I am the co-founder of the Fitzrovia Academy, which offers tuition in classical piano, cello, guitar, and clarinet. Lessons are held in our studio just off Tottenham Court Road, and we welcome pupils of all ages and abilities.

My objective as a teacher is to put in motion a cycle of inspiration and facilitation. Pupils come to me with goals ranging from passing a diploma exam to learning the latest Ed Sheeran hit. As I help them realise their goals, more and more of the vast and exciting world of the piano is revealed, inspiring pupils to explore new repertoire, conquer new techniques.

On a practical level, I take a holistic approach to teaching, and most of my lessons incorporate elements of keyboard technique, classical history and music theory. I strongly believe that playing the piano can enrich all aspects of our life, as we develop our concentration, co-ordination, general knowledge, and sensitivity.

Every student has a personal motivation for wanting to develop a relationship with the piano - whatever yours is, Iíd be delighted to help you!
