Notes:

I am a very experienced performer and teacher of violin and piano. I studied Violin with Nona Liddell and Piano with Hamish Milne at the Royal Academy of Music, then continued studying at the National Centre for Orchestral Studies. Subsequently I worked for 12 years as a full-time orchestral violinist in Germany. Since my return to the UK in 1999 I have worked as a freelance performer with leading orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philharmonia and the Orchestra of English National Ballet. As a pianist I have performed at the Basil Street Hotel, Knightsbridge, and accompanied ballet classes at the MacAlpine School of Dance, Camberwell. I have been running my private teaching practice in Croydon since 2000. Recent piano pupils have done particularly well, one is now studying piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and another is on his second tour of the UK as the on-stage keyboard player in the West End Musical "Dreamboats and Petticoats." I teach children from the age of 7 upwards, and adults too. Recent adult pupils include a student who successfully completed a Dip ABRSM violin teaching diploma, and a Great-grandmother who started piano lessons for the first time about 18 months ago and is now capable of playing one or two simple hymns in her church.
