Notes:
I teach all ages and levels from age 5 beginners (Kodaly-based singing and clapping games) to adult improvers and university music students. I was Head of Strings at School of St Helen and St Katharine, Abingdon for 11 years, and then violin/viola teacher at Wycombe Abbey School, where I taught at all levels up to and including diploma. Several of my private students have enjoyed a non exam-focused approach, in which I happily incorporate favourite songs on request, film music and jazz improvisation. I also conduct youth orchestras and set up and coach youth chamber groups, many of which compete at national level with huge success.
As a freelance performer I play with ensembles such as the Academy of Ancient Music, the Gabrieli Consort and the English Concert. I also play jazz bass in clubs and festivals and viola in several chamber groups.
