Biography

As a freelance singer, pianist and educator Katherine is passionate about helping students to find their individual musical voice whilst also developing efficient technique and a clear understanding of physiology and voice production. She has worked with a wide age range of students throughout her career and enjoys helping to develop musicians and voices from the beginning stages through to advanced levels. She has trained in classical, jazz, musical theatre, contemporary and popular music genres.

She has worked with Glyndebourne Education, Pegasus Opera, HMDT, Pro Corda, Royal College of Music, BBC Proms, IntoUniversity, Turtle Song and the City of London Festival in facilitating and delivering creative music workshops in singing, composition and improvisation. She has also presented pre-concert talks for ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

Katherine works as a performer, composer and recording artist. In 2017/2018 she performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company in their production of Titus Andronicus, as part of the Rome Season. She sings with London Contemporary Voices, performs as a piano vocalist throughout London and record for films, theatre, video games and animations worldwide.

As a singing and piano teacher, she is dedicated to bringing out the best in every individualís musical development and enabling students to be confident, skilled musicians. She has over ten years experience in coaching students through the ABRSM exam syllabus, including sight-reading and aural tests as well as coaching proficient and musical performances of the repertoire.

She is on the Estill Master Trainer pathway, mentored by Anne-Marie Speed, in the world-renowned Estill Voice Model.

Katherine works with performers from a wide range of performing disciplines. Key factors in her teaching are developing confidence and creativity, as well as empowering students to work individually and practise efficiently through a thorough grounding of technique and music theory.
