Luan has been teaching clarinet to students of all ages and abilities since 1987. In addition to a thriving private practice, she has taught at Birmingham Conservatoire Junior School, University of Wolverhampton, Solihull, Birmingham and Sheffield Music Services, Rugby School, Westhouse School, Baverstock School and the Royal Wolverhampton School to name but a few. Her longest standing position was at Hallfield School (21 years as clarinet teacher and 6 years as Head of Music!)

Alongside teaching Luan performs regularly as co-principal clarinet with Orchestra of the Swan, runs workshops in educational and healthcare settings, adjudicates for the British and International Federation of Festivals and is a Diploma examiner for ABRSM.
