Notes:

I have been teaching the bassoon at Westminster School and the choir schools of Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral for 10 years, and also teach at The Hall (Hampstead) and Coloma School (Croydon). I also teach several private pupils (children and adults).

I have a wide range of experience including starting beginners on bassoon and mini bassoon, preparing students for scholarship exams and all levels of ABRSM exams, and working with those who just want to play the bassoon for fun/to be in an ensemble! In the past couple of years my pupils have achieved distinctions at all levels from grade 1 through to grade 8, and won scholarships to schools including Eton, Harrow, JAGS, City of London School and Kings Canterbury.

I am also a contrabassoon player so can offer lessons on this instrument as well.

I also teach grade 5 theory and am happy to do this for individuals or groups. I am a member of an award-winning woodwind trio and bassoon quartet that perform regularly around the country and so am also available for chamber music coaching.

As part of my school teaching I have been DBS checked and completed child protection training within the last year. I can teach at my home in Sydenham (south-east London) or travel to your home in south or central London. I offer fixed or flexible lesson times, and will start with a consultation lesson before you commit. I can also advise on instrument hire or purchase, reeds and other aspects of getting the bassoon set up.
