Nick Ruddock is a versatile and competent young guitarist with a wide range of live and studio experience under his belt.
Having studied music at the prestigious Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Nick continues playing and teaching guitar in and around London.
During his time at university, he was taught by many first class musicians; including Pete Friesen (Alice Cooper), Frankie Tontoh (Kool and the Gang, Amy Winehouse), Nic Mier (Jeff Beck) and Guthrie Govan (Aristocrats).
Nick works teaching guitar privately in his own studio or at students homes, as well as teaching songwriting and guitar workshops within schools in the South of England.
As well as teaching guitar, Nick plays in a wide variety of bands and is well established in the live scene.
Having played in the Black Fish Duo around London for the past 2 years, they are now a well established and heavily in demand acoustic blues and jazz covers duo; specialising in weddings and corporate functions.
Alongside this, Nick has been working with the Max Stone project since October last year. Nick was flown out to France in February to play at the world famous Midem festival in Cannes; representing Max as one of the UK’s most up and coming artists. He also hit the road with Max and the band to go on the Coffee House Sessions tour, playing over 20 gigs across 2 weeks at Universities across the UK.
Nick is also the musical director and one of the song writers in his own band Empire Parade; a quirky, high energy outfit playing a mixture of funk, soul and blues.
Other projects to note are Nicks Electro Swing side project; Swing King. Nick wrote and composed all the Swing King tracks working alongside producer Vince Welch (Subsource – AKA Black Futures, Demented Dimensions).
He also worked with producers Matt How and Andy Land.
Nick currently plays for the Black Fish Duo, Max Stone and Empire Parade, but it also available as a dep and session musician.
