Notes:

Hello there,
My approach to teaching is to develop a strong sense of musicality in the students chosen instrument, after years of gigging, recording and writing music I've come to realise it's one of the most important skills you can have as a musician.

By musicality we mean developing not only great technique but an individual style and a creative approach to the instrument. I would always encourage students to explore the instrument as much as possible, there really is no wrong you can do when trying out new things.

A bit about the lessons; they last an hour and I can travel to the students house. We usually start out with a warm up, then on to some technique, we then look at some repertoire I provide as well as some songs they want to look at also. Its important to keep it engaging and fun whilst working through the techniques. I give students plenty of material to keep them busy as well as encouraging them to experiment with their instrument between lessons.

And a little bit about me; I started out playing drums at the age of 10 before moving on to bass a few years later. I always had a strong love of writing music which has carried through to today where amongst teaching I compose music for Film and Television as well as producing my own music and playing in a few different bands.

Looking forward to meeting some new students
