Mr Geoff Westgate

Since learning to play the guitar as a teenager, I have played in a wide variety of musical endeavors: accompanying solo singer, studio session work, pit band for musical shows, folk bands, jazz bands, rock bands, experimental music making.

I graduated from Sheffield University in 2000, returning to the south coast to start my teaching career. Since then I have also spent time traveling and playing in South America; selling and servicing instruments with a large chain music store and playing guitar at various sessions.

I spent 3 years leading "The Fiddlers Jig" and "Mangolights", resident folk/ pop bands at venues in south Thailand, including the world famous Saxophone Pub. In 2005 we played at the first Phuket International Blues Festival along with British Blues legend Victor Brox and many of the best blues acts in Asia.

I am currently playing with the south's premier swing and jump blues band, "The Regular Joes" ( Since forming in 2006 we have built up a loyal following of dancers, vintage enthusiasts and music fans. In September 2011 we spent a fantastic 3 days playing to thousands of people at Goodwood Revival.

I can also be seen jazzing it up with jazz quintet, "The Jazz Police" around Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch. I lead the A-Level Music Technology course at a local school and freelance as a sound engineer/ producer.
