Biography

As a child, I was inspired by Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' and 'Fur Elise' and I adored classical music. In fact, when I was young I loved most types of music; pop, classical and I even appreciated opera! My parents would listen to operas by Verdi or Puccini and I would happily sit with them reading the lyrics from the booklet in the record box usually ending up in tears by the end of the opera as they were always such tragic endings. Fortunately, a box of tissues was ready to hand.
I hoped one day I might be able to write my own music and perform it somehow.
Piano lessons began when I was six years old.
I took my ABRSM exams grade one through to grade eight and passed them all.
I was a keen member of the choir at school and enjoyed singing and playing the piano in assemblies. This helped boost my confidence.
I also developed a great love of acting whilst at school, particularly stage acting and decided to go to Drama School to develop my acting skills.
Music and Drama are a wonderful combination of skills to have and I knew this would be useful for me later in life.
Fourteen years ago, I set up my own touring Theatre-in-Education company performing plays to children in schools, theatres and art centres. I now write my own plays and music for my theatre company and have actors working for me.
Excuse the pun; Music has always played an important part in my life.
