Saxophone, singing, guitar teacher - learn the easy way..

Learning music doesn't have to be a hard sweat. It should be a challenge of course, otherwise where's the fun of achieving. But it doesnt have to be an endless grind through an unfamiliar universe of wierd symbols on wierd pages in wierd books...
I think the reason a lot of tutors teach by rote, usuing these outdated and spirit sapping methods is because they have 10 pupils lined up everyday for a week - get em in, get em out..!
A recent sax student of mine was challenged to learn One Step Beyond in six months. He is a forty year old plasterer who has never played an instrument in his life, he had no idea where to start. We got there easily with 2 months to spare along the way he learnt (as and when he needed to) about scales and keys, breathing techniques, timing and the basics of reading music. Know why it was so easy? He loves that tune!

I have been an active performer and teacher for twenty years. Professionally I have performed with name artists such as Geno Washington, The RSC, Melanie Blatt, The NSRO...

In the last few years, my teaching has been very varied: working with excluded teenagers in schools; teaching B'tech Music performance at West Kent college, and most recently running a summer songwriting and music performance course at the Albany Theatre, Deptford.

I teach saxophone, singing, songwriting and guitar. Please get in touch if you are interested
