Mr Michael Adlington - BMus ATCL PGCE

Michael began playing the piano at the age of 6 and the saxophone at the age of 10. During secondary school his sight-reading and accompanying abilities were noted and he was often asked to accompany singers and instrumentalists in school concerts, as well as solos.

Michael started studying music at Cardiff University in September 2007. His accompanying skills were often required, especially during lunchtime recitals in the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay, as well as solo performances. He achieved the highest mark in the year for his 3rd year Open Piano Recital with a 1st.

He studied a Secondary Music PGCE at Bristol University in 2010 and taught music up to A-level at a local secondary school.

Michael was recently the resident afternoon/evening pianist at the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel, until he relocated to Birmingham in late 2014, an then to London in 2015.

He has recently left the teaching profession after a few years, but takes an active interest in education and peripatetic teaching. He has taught varying abilities, from young beginners to advanced grade 8+ on Piano and Keyboard, as well as ABRSM theory.

He is currently seeking new pupils of all ages and abilities.
