I have seven years of private, one-to-one teaching experience as well as a year of experience teaching whole class bowed strings for Nottingham Music Service and a year teaching small group violin classes for Edinburgh City Council Youth Music Initiative.
Currently I teach both privately and in some local schools.
I like to teach my students through a combination of traditional methods and learning by ear. I think it is very important for every student to find the right balance between reading music and using the ear to learn.

I can offer lessons for students of any age, either on a one-to-one basis, pairs lessons, or small groups. Pairs or small groups lessons (or even family lessons if you like!) can be particularly good for younger children who might find the idea of a one-to-one session intimidating.

Students will need their own musical instrument. If you need advice on purchasing or renting an instrument I am able to help with this.
