Thank you for visiting my profile! I'm delighted to write that I am able and wishing to take on more students this year and into 2017. So Happy Singing Lessons New Year to you! I am a freelance professional opera singer who also enjoys teaching.

I teach classical singing but also lighter styles. I am there to help you with learning new songs or your line in your choir. I'm really hoping you can enjoy your voice more regardless of your current ability. That's the key.

What kind of experience do you have?
I am experienced in teaching keen amateur adults who tend to enthuse in lessons with me and also inspire. I am also DBS checked. In the past have I have taught students from beginner level to taking formal music exams as well as other students that simply continue the enjoyment of learning to sing on their own path.

I can travel to all areas of London and prefer to visit a student's home to teach. However if that is not possible for you I can book a music studio for your session at a slightly higher rate.

As teaching privately I have flexible times depending on my schedule and yours! I'm also available to teach throughout holiday periods. 'Diary bash' is term often used with my regular students, where we find a convenient time that sometimes becomes a regular slot especially with students with busy lifestyles and commitments

I teach mature students, especially beginners /intermediate , although this year starting privately with some younger folk. I teach anyone coming back to singing again; looking for inspiration in their singing life that want to to learn more, gain in confidence and take care of their voice. To work hard but have fun!

I have students that enjoy and take on their own goals; learning songs, feeling more prepared for their choir practice or party pieces, or simply individual enjoyment and having the chance to sing in the middle or the end of a long day. I have a very keen amateur that has taken formal grade exams 4,5 and 6 with aplomb ; a personally rewarding project for her..... and succeeded!

, I have an up- to- date DBS certificate.

My current students are a pleasure to teach and work with; not only enthusiastic but also a highlight of my career as a whole. They are from all walks of life; business, finance; all with different musical backgrounds and abilities. However, their common goal is to get more enjoyment from their voices. I hope to take on more students like this very much.

Some testimonials from students for you... ..'' I have never tried singing in my life because I was so intimidated by the thought of singing and so afraid I would be terrible! But I found Kathryn and she is so encouraging and supportive that I now just love our singing lessons! She gives me great confidence and we have lots of fun. I love learning more each week about how to sing and she is a fabulous teacher. I am still a real beginner but I am happy to be finally singing and enjoying it along the way. I even joined my golf club choir for Christmas! I would never have done that without Kathryn's help. She is a real treasure'' Clare, Notting Hill

''Just to let you know my audition went OK yesterday. J was evidently pleased and doesn't need to re- audition me for another 3 years. He asked afterwards whether I had been having singing lessons, as my voice sounded stronger with more projection and even commented that I had some lovely lower notes. Thank you so much for your help in enabling me to understand and use my voice better. The couple of sessions I've had with you already increased my confidence'' Lois, Surrey

"Thank you very much Kathryn for being such a positive, encouraging, and infinitely patient teacher. Even doing singing drills with you is fun! My voice has improved tremendously and I can finally try to sing some of my beloved Lieder and operatic arias! Susi, Chelsea
