Notes:

I am an inspirational Cello & Piano tutor with over 9 years of teaching experience in the UK schools and privately. I am passionate about music and I love teaching students of any level of experience and ability.

I worked for Slough Music Service, Redbridge Music Service, Newham Music Academy, Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service, Cherry Pie Music, DaCapo Music Foundation and Tri-borough Music Hub. In 2016-2018 I was employed by the Oxfordshire County Music Service as a full-time cello teacher and the instructor of cello section in the Oxfordshire Schools Symphony Orchestra (OSSO). Since January 2019 I have been the Head of Strings in the Isle of Man Music Service.

My private tuition is tailored to individual requirements including ABRSM & Trinity exams preparation, getting-you-to-an-orchestra, leisure or therapeutic aims. You will develop repertoire and improvisation skills, as well as excellent technique. I have taught students of all ages (4-90) and abilities.

Examples of successful teaching (past & recent):

1. An Italian businessman in his late forties was a complete beginner when he first started to study the cello with me in 2009 to pursuit his lifelong dream. I had been teaching him for nearly 7 years and he reached the level of Grade 6-7.

2. A German neurologist and PhD student at Oxford University, wanted to continue her cello studies which she started back in Germany before moving to Oxford. She enjoys playing the cello despite her busy life as a scientist and is keen to join an amateur orchestra.

3. A 9-year old cello pupil learnt the cello in Australia. In early 2016 I started preparing her for ABRSM Grade 1 which she passed with flying colours and was awarded a Distinction in the summer 2016.

4. I had been supporting a lady with dementia, a former headmistress and maths teacher, for about 3 years to help her manage her symptoms and enjoy life. She was very musical and always brightened up when playing the keyboard and violin.

5. In the spring 2017 two of my pupils were awarded Distinctions in Trinity exams - Grade 4 Cello and Grade 3 Violin.

6. In September 2017 two of my pupils were granted the prestigious Music Awards founded by the Oxfordshire County Music Service. In September 2018 one other cellist received the award.

7. A talented young boy I started teaching in a state primary school in Oxford achieved Distinction in Grade 4 Trinity cello exam only in two years and the Gala Award in 2017 after only one year of cello lessons in a group. He was invited to perform in the Gala Awards Ceremony in 2018 and played with two advanced cellists (one of them was my manager) in front of a big audience.

I have a current DBS, as well as the Safeguarding and Child Protection Training certificates. References are available on request.
