Mrs Helen Bloomfield

Helen was educated at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated with an excellent honours degree in the middle 1980's. She then completed a postgraduate diploma in Orchestral Studies there and subsequently a PGCE.
Helen was lucky enough to be part of British Youth Opera and played in cities across the UK for two years and also the orchestra of the European Centre for Opera and Vocal Art in Alden Biesen, Belgium. She achieved a scholarship to study with Leonard Bernstein and George Solti in Schleswig Holstein and played the Beethoven Violin Concerto with Leonard Bernstein conducting in 1987.
She returned to the UK to become a professional orchestral violinist and teacher, and taught in schools across the South East and in the Midlands. She now teaches privately in Buxton, Derbyshire. Helen teaches students from beginner to advanced and all ages from very small to more mature!
Helen has had much success with students taking and passing ABRSM violin, viola and piano exams over the years and also prepares students for scholarship exams and music theory. She accompanies all her students to grade 7 and advises them to employ a professional accompanist for grade 8!
