Murrough Connolly is an award-winning classical guitarist from Ireland. He completed a B.Mus degree with First Class Honours at CIT Cork School of Music in 2019. This year, Murrough achieved a Distinction in his M.Mus degree at the University of Manchester and is now pursuing a PhD in Music Composition.

Over the past few years, Murrough has taken part in several masterclasses with reputable guitarists, including the late Roland Dyens and Craig Ogden.

For 3 years (2016-2019), Murrough was a guitar tutor at Kerry School of Music where he taught blues, acoustic and classical guitar to all ages and abilities.

Based in Fallowfield, Murrough is happy to travel to students who live within a few miles of his location (e.g. Withington, Didsbury, Longsight, Rusholme, Victoria Park).

Musical Achievements:
(1) First prize at Feis Maitiú (2017).

(2) Second prize at Feis Ceoil's “Guitar Bach Prize” competition (2017).

(3) Winner of the Barbara Harris Memorial Travelling Scholarship by CIT Cork School of Music (2017).

(4) His composition “Cataract” was premiered by the Irish Guitar Quartet in the National Concert Hall in May 2018.

(5) Semi-finalist at the Irish Freemason's Musician of the Year Competition (2019).
