I welcome pupils of all abilities and experience in both violin and singing.

While Covid-19 has changed the way we live and work, I have moved my private teaching practice online until it is safe for us to resume face to face lessons. 100% of my pupils have chosen to continue their lessons this way, and are enjoying the opportunity to keep making music in lockdown.

I teach violin pupils from the age of 6.
I recommend singers wait until they are 10 or 11 before beginning lessons.
At the other end of the spectrum, it is never too late to begin music lessons, so I welcome adults too!

I choose to focus my singing teaching on work with girls, boys with unbroken voices and women. Once the voice has broken, I feel that male pupils are better served by a male singing teacher.

My approach is broad; I aim to develop my pupils' overall musicianship hand in hand with their instrumental / vocal skills. This has grown out of my own background; I draw on my wide experience as a professional violinist to enhance my vocal work and am able to offer my violin pupils a singerís perspective on instrumental music.

I am a Fellow of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
