Keeping Children Safe in Music is the latest in the EduCare's series of distance learning courses on child protection. The training programme uses short films to show a variety of good and bad practice examples, which will be available to watch online. It will help anyone teaching music to children gain a better understanding of their child protection responsibilities, and avoid situations that could lead to accusations of misconduct.

Hi, I am a recent Music graduate from Edinburgh Napier University, studying both classical performance as well as the history of music.

Instrumental teaching formed a core element of the last two years of study, where we gained essential knowledge in key techniques and teaching standards. Separately to University I have gained 3 years of teaching experience with a wide variety of pupils, from complete beginners to those looking for a new musical challenge.

I am happy teaching most styles of music, particularly folk or classical. The ABRSM and Trinity College music exams are both familiar topics of study for me. However the focus of my lessons lies in creating a fully rounded musician, and exploring the enjoyment and freedom gained from playing a musical instrument.

I have experience playing with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and alongside the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. I have also played at both the Orkney and Shetland Folk Festivals, Belladrum and Celtic Connections.

I am able to travel to you for your convenience.

Please contact me with any questions.
