Sally is a private voice teacher specialising in contemporary & commercial vocal technique, including Pop, Rock, R&B, Jazz, Soul, Metal and Musical Theatre. If you want to learn how to build a strong and powerful voice in any of these styles Sally can help you understand how to get the best out of your voice while learning how to build a sustainable and reliable voice in what are seen as the more demanding vocal styles.

Sally has studied vocal technique for over 21 years with a great interest in voice protection and the the recovery of damaged voices, with experience in recognising and flagging up vocal problems and helping singers to rebuild their voices after damage. She has worked with bands, performance artists and young singers in preparation for gigging, recording and touring.

Through her years of teaching and helping professional performers rebuild their voices after injury Sally has become the "go to" voice teacher in the surrounding areas for when singers and voice teachers want to improve their technique, vocal health or when they are worried about vocal damage. Sally has a proven track record in helping singers achieve their goals whether it is to improve their voice, or build their career in music.

Sally is both classically trained in traditional vocal techniques as well as more science and anatomy focused vocal training for modern and contemporary styles.

In addition to her teaching Sally has been writing and singing as a lead vocalist for many years in many genres ranging from classical to heavy metal. Sally studied at South Downs College gaining both a Btec and HND in Music Practice. In 2011 she graduated from The University of Chichester with a BA (Hons) in Music with Instrumental and Vocal Teaching. Along side her private tuition, Sally has worked in many musical settings including with youth groups, charities, colleges, university’s and is the vocal health and singing tutor at The Urban Vocal Group where she has developed the “Sing Safe” Syllabus designed to help keep young singers voices healthy.

Sally’s main aim is to help provide her students with the skills to enhance their careers and essentially to encourage independent learning and development as they progress in their profession.

Sally teaches from both her fully equipped studio in Northney Marina, Hayling Island and from students homes in the Portsmouth / Havant / Waterlooville areas.

Sally is Enhanced DBS Checked and is also a member of The Musicians Union, The British Voice Association and The Association of Teachers of Singing
