Christel began violin studies at the age of 6 in a small community music school in Binghamton, New York USA. Upon moving to New Hampshire she studied with Cornelia Schwartz, and at the age of 15 was a member of the UNH Symphony, leading numerous New England youth festival orchestras and later on joined The New England Conservatory Youth Philharmonic in Boston, Massachusetts under Benjamin Zander. In 2003 Christel was invited to London to study violin at the Royal College of Music, where she attained her BMus (Hons) and completed Level 3 Alexander Technique studies with Peter Buckoke, regular master classes with Lewis Kaplan, and performances under Bernard Haitink and Vladamir Ashkenazy.

Upon graduation, Christel developed a keen interest in early years and string pedagogy while teaching at The Merlin School in London, and is now an accredited Stringbabies teacher. After relocating to the a Midlands she quickly became in high demand as a violin teacher in several preparatory and state schools. Now settled in Swindon she teaches at Dragon School, Farleigh School, and St Andrews School Pangbourne.
