Lavinia O'Meagher played the Mozart Coronation Concerto with orchestra,at the age of eight. She studied piano under Alexander Hmelnitsky. an exponent of the Russian School of late romantic pianism, in Australia; later studying with Marguerite Long in Paris, before attending the Royal Academy in London, under Harold Craxton.

She has given recitals for many years in London, and also locally at Mid Border Arts at Presteigne, and at the Gateway Arts Centre in Shrewsbury.

Lavinia O'Meagher has been a Senior Tutor at the Music Department of the City Literary Institute in London,and given master classes there;and has had a long experience of teaching adult amateurs of all grades, from complete beginners to post-graduate students and professionals.Her approach to keyboard teaching incorporates ideas from the Alexander Technique and other similar methods,to promote freedom of movement throughout the body, he;ping students to relax, unwind, and express themselves more freely.

Lavinia O'Meagher is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, and is listed in tne Society's Register of Professional Private Music Teachers, published annually.
