My approach to teaching is based on generating enthusiasm and love for music through understanding how music works, on all levels.

Whether it be preparation for a Music Theory Grade exam, coaching in preparation for an instrumental exam or performance, help with a composition or all aspects of electronic and electroacoustic music production, I guarantee that it will be both fun and inspiring and get results.

I have many years of experience both as a performer (conductor and improvisor), composer (of electroacoustic music) and as a teacher, including as a lecturer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

I am currently the music director and conductor of the Torbay Symphony Orchestra and the Exeter University Symphony Orchestra with whom I perform a great deal of contemporary music as well as standard repertoire.
