Notes:

I play the clarinet and the piano at a professional standard, and have trained classically as well as playing by ear. I have over four year's teaching experience in music, and have taught a range of ages and abilities, from very young children to retired adults, and from beginner to intermediate level.

I can teach by musical notation as well as by ear, depending on what your interest is and where you want to go with your music. I believe in making the learning process rewarding and enjoyable, and not stressful! I can work towards grades with you or just teach you to play for fun.

I recently obtained a PGCE with music specialism from Exeter University, and I have experience teaching a whole class of children. I am currently a music specialist teacher in a local primary school where, as well as teaching curricular music, I also run an orchestra, choir and keyboard clubs.

I am an enthusiastic composer and I write in what could be called a modern/classical style. I have been working on various pieces for younger musicians, and in 2013 my set of Piano Miniatures for children was performed in a lunchtime concert in Surrey. I often write special pieces for my music pupils in styles that they enjoy, especially fun duets!
