I am active as a music teacher in Nottingham, having played the violin for 16 years, and graduated with a music degree from Durham in June 2017. I have studied violin with Susan Innes and Deirdre Ward, and I was awarded the ABRSM Vinnie Willis Memorial Prize for Violin after the completion of my Grade VIII exam in 2014. I enjoy playing with the Trent Chamber Academy and the Jubilee Trio, as well as singing with the choir of St Mary Magdalene in Newark. I have toured internationally as a soloist and performed in several venues in Amsterdam in 2016. Since moving to Newark-on-Trent, I have taught music at Magnus Church of England Academy, the Minster School in Southwell, and Ellis Guilford Academy in Nottingham. Last year I was active as the Composer in Residence at St Mary Magdalene Church, where I also taught theory to choristers and occasionally directed services. My teaching style is very flexible, and I think it is very important that my students know what they want from their lessons, so that they can progress at a pace that they are comfortable with.
