Over 30 years experience as a working musician with a wide range of engagements and commissions for theatre, private, corporate and music industry clients.

I am an experienced tutor and mentor and have an extensive working knowledge of music technology and recording skills and techniques.

I offer instrumental tuition (Accordion, Piano and Keyboard), throughout the North Lanarkshire area, Central, Strathclyde, and Perth regions.

I am PVG approved and registered, with considerable experience as an instrumental tutor, and in working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).

I actively encourage and facilitate group work (Catering for differentiated learning), to encourage collaboration, musical diversity, artistic, intellectual and personal growth, as a companion facility to instrumental lessons.

Having given some thought to the fact that anyone wishing to learn accordion, will obviously require an instrument, it can be quite daunting, and very expensive to purchase a suitable instrument, especially if one is not familiar with accordions.

I have tried some new 48 bass beginner instruments, but in all honesty even the ones that are £495 are not very good. They have been built down to a price point and are prone to choking, which means that some notes don't sound properly, or even at all, in some instances.

I recommend therefore older, better quality instruments that have been properly maintained. This ensures that students will not be frustrated by a malfunctioning instrument, and keeps costs down for the parents.

Accordingly, I have purchased some suitable instruments that I can hire out to those pupils who do not have an instrument of their own. (I charge £5 per week hire charge). * Conditions apply

The beauty of this system is that parents don't have to spend a lot of money on purchasing an instrument, at the risk of their child changing their minds after a short while (Doesn't happen too often, but it can). Also, it equates to a figure of £260 for a year (A considerable saving compared to buying their first instrument). It also means that when a child progresses onto their own, or a bigger instrument, I retain the 48 bass accordion which can then allow another child to begin.

Each accordion I provide is checked and serviced by a skilled technician to ensure that everything works as it should. Any subsequent servicing/repair work is undertaken by me.
