Hello!
My name's Dan and I'm a young, friendly, music teacher based in East London. Heres a quick summary of my approach:
I teach you the music that you WANT to play! I strongly believe this is the best path to success.
I give you a strong technical grounding in the fundamentals of your instrument.
You learn how to play by reading and by ear.
We work together towards helping you make music in whatever contexts you would like to whether for pleasure or playing in any kind of band or ensemble.
If desired, composition and improvisation are encouraged!
I can teach ABRSM/Trinity/other grades, or we can take a more relaxed approach. There are many wonderful ways to learn music, so I like to try and offer as many as I can!
I have over 5 years teaching experience and regularly teach pupils of any age, ability and background. As well as my own studio of private students, I teach at local schools with Newham and Tower Hamlets Music Services and I undergo regular teacher and safeguarding training with both of these organisations, which helps me constantly update my approach. I also have a full enhanced DBS to view if desired.
I am also a busy performing musician. I graduated from Guildhall in 2019, and recent performance highlights include a session at Abbey Road, playing lead alto with Capital Orchestra at Cadogan Hall and performing to sold-out crowds at Pizza Express Dean Street.
Am able to teach out of my home studio in Wapping or, location dependent and for a slightly higher cost, to travel to you. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
**COVID UPDATE**
Any teaching in person will now only be done with appropriate discussion and precautions taken by both parties. Please ask about this!
I offer high quality online lessons at a reduced price. These really are an excellent substitution for in person learning if you are at all worried about risk.
