My name's Dan and I'm a young, friendly saxophone teacher based in East Central London.

I am currently studying Jazz Saxophone at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music, and as such have been lucky to learn with renowned international artists and musicians including Christian Forshaw, Jean Toussaint, Paul Stevens, Malcolm Edmonstone, Trish Clowes and James Knight. Although I specialise in jazz I'm an experienced performer in a variety of styles and have also studied classical and commercial saxophone playing. I also have extensively studied music theory and Clarinet, and would be happy to teach these as well as saxophone.

In performance, I have been lucky enough to have had a number of fantastic opportunities since studying at the Guildhall including performing multiple sold out gigs at the Pizza Express Dean St. and being asked to sit in a number of times on the infamous Ronnie Scott's Late Late Show. I also regularly perform professionally as a member of a number of different function bands with previous clients including Channel 4, The Guardian and The Commonwealth Business Banquet.

As a teacher, I believe firmly in starting my pupils off with a strong grounding and understanding of the fundamental technique, and that this is the fastest, best and most rewarding way of pursuing study within the instrument. Further to this, depending on your interests and level, lessons could include:

- Classical technique and etudes to improve this.
- Jazz and improvisation: e.g. learning standards, beginning and improving your improvising, how best to approach transcription.
- The ABRSM grade requirements
- Theory, harmony and keyboard skills depending on students interest and preferred style.
... or anything else related to saxophone/clarinet that you'd like to learn!

Am able to teach out of my home studio in Wapping, Guildhall School of Music in Barbican or, location dependent and for a higher cost, to travel to you. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
