Biography

Born in Palermo (Italy), Annalisa’s passion for music flourished in London, where she studied Classical Music and Theatre Studies. By the age of 18, she already had several recitals at the Queen Elizabeth Hall under her belt, including “Improvisation on stage” (project by Sir Harrison Birtwhistle) and “Composition based on Le Soleil des Eaux by Boulez, for Soprano and Orchestra” conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
She trained privately with Bel Canto specialists Jane Humphrey, Laura Sarti and John Upperton, whilst performing with reputed amateur companies such as Opera Integra, Surrey Opera and Midsummer Opera.
Annalisa founded Project:Opera, the people’s opera company just before moving to the Isle of Wight, where she now gathers and performs with internationally established and aspiring artists, to bring Opera into the community and for the community.
