Notes:

I am an experienced woodwind teacher and professional musician, and work with students of all ages and abilities.

My approach to teaching is positive and friendly, with the emphasis on enjoyment of playing. I work with a wide range of ages, including children who attend lessons after school as well as many adults and retirees who have taken up an instrument later in life. I regularly prepare pupils for ABRSM graded exams up to grade 8 and beyond.

I currently teach at St Andrews University and Erskine Stewart's Melville Schools in Edinburgh, as well as running my own private teaching studio in West Wemyss, Fife. Previously I have also taught at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Perth College, Sutton Music Service and City University, London.

I am also a busy performer, playing throughout Scotland in a range of settings, from big bands to musical theatre orchestra pits. Recent work has included Pitlochry Festival Theatre's production of Chicago, and the King's Theatre production of Sleeping Beauty in Glasgow. I am also a member of Workers Union Ensemble and the Scottish Saxophone Ensemble.
