Instruments: Piano Keyboard Theory
Genre/Style(s): Classical, Contemporary
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

Having taught for many years my teaching practice is now very well-established in the local area.

Pupils have their lessons in their own home. Many of them choose to follow the graded exam system while others take lessons purely for fun and enjoyment.

For those interested in exams I teach through all the grades and onto Diploma standard.

Previous students have gone on to study music at University, use their playing in schools, perform semi-professionally, one to work at a piano manufacturing company and another to become a piano tuner for professional concerts.

I have taught students from Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, and Zimbabwe. Complete beginners to the more advanced are always welcome, as are pupils of all ages!

The atmosphere of the lessons tends to informal and relaxed, however progress is always carefully monitored and students are expected to practise between their lessons.

At all times I feel it is important for the student to have fun while they learn, and in future years be able to look back at their lessons with a sense of satisfaction regarding their level of progress and attainment and a sense of enjoyment in having developed their love of music and music-making.

There is also a friendly Evening Class on Tuesdays for keyboard players as well as for those wishing to take their Grade 5 theory exam.
